Random Acts of Kindness Day

Today was Random Acts of Kindness Day.   RAK Day is a simple way for businesses and individuals to step outside of their comfort zone and to see for themselves that giving is even better than receiving.  
Room 5 decided to do their bit to brighten the day for those around them, both at school and out in the community.  The following people were "RAK'd" throughout the day:
- Alarna and Angel did Mrs Walsh's morning tea duty for her.
- The Maggi team cooked some yummy muffins for morning tea.
- The whole class walked up town and cleared rubbish from the park and skatepark.
- Dhruv did Mrs Watson's lunchtime duty for her.
- Jessie and Maaike took Room 2 out for a game.
- Hannah, Grace and Rhys took Room 1 out for a game.

Way to go Room 5 - great to see our student leaders putting our school values into action!

Technology Term 3

Our year 7&8 students were hard at work at the Technology Centre today, some lucky families should be having lasagne for tea tonight! 

 

Taiaha Presentation

As a final part of the Think Right, Dream Big course they have been working through, our senior boys gave a demonstration of their learning in taiaha, at a special assembly yesterday afternoon. The audience was blown away by the skills and mana shown by the boys. Congratulations boys, may you carry these skills with you through your lives.

In a fitting finale, Ronnie joined the boys for a haka!

Room 5 High Ropes Adventure

Room 5 had another awesome adventure with Mr Beach and the Kuranui Outdoor Education Academy at Patuna Farm today. Students were challenged to a variety of high "12m+" courses. Room 5 shone with their individual and teamwork skills. A huge thanks to Pauline, Keiko and Harriet for their help today and a special SHOUT OUT to Mrs Surynt-Tapiki for being the adult representative on the course!!! As you can see by the photos we experienced four seasons in one day, so apologies for some of the dark photos!
